In winters you should care yours broiler chicken very smartly and hardly, because if they will not get there necessary temperature, there can be the chances of bacterial infections like CRD. So you should do some arrangement in yours winters which are discussed below.
1. Curtain Management
You should cover yours broiler chicken shed or house from all sides with heavy curtains in winters. Because curtain protect broiler chicken from coldy wind and fog and maintain the required temperature. So arrange curtain very tightly, there should not space for wind crossing.
2. Thick layer of litter
In winters the layer of litter below broiler chicken should be thick. Because in winters chicken houses remains covered with curtain and there may be chances of wet
litter due to lack of sun light and air. So keep there's litter layer thick so that there litter remained dry.
3. Warm Water
In winter the water stored in water tank fully chilled. So chilled water can effect body temperature, so you are requested to provide
them warm water in winters or coldy seasons for the best health and growth.
4. Ventilation
As discussed above we use curtain in winters, due to use of curtain there can be chances of wet litter in poultry, as a result of it can produce more ammonia gas. To overcome this problem we can use sliding
windows which can be open at day time and can be closed at night.
5. Use of Brooders
You should use brooders in yours broiler chicken house to keep yours birds warm. Brooder can be operated by electricity, gas, wood etc according to design. So provide them necessary temperature by these brooders.
