Feedy Diarrhoea/feedy dropping/loose dropping/undigestion in Broiler Poultry Chicken
Sometime we found undigest feed in the litter (bedding) of broiler poultry. Its just due to the
undigestion. It is also known as feedy diarrhoea in Chickens. Diarrhoea should be prohibted as soon as possible, because diarrhoea is responsible for poor growth and high FCR in poultry.There
are a lot of reason behind diarrhoea which are given below.
1. Due to the change
the level of Protein. -: When we give to start the finisher feed from
starter feed. Then the level of protein in feed changes. Because
starter feed has protein value of 23% approx and finisher contains protein
value of 21%. Some birds cannot digest it, then it becomes a reason
of
loose dropping in chicken. So you should have to give them mixed (Starter-Finisher) feed before to go start with finisher feed. So whenever you notice in your farm there are only 2-3 days starter feed remains, then give them mixed feed i.e is said above. Because High energy feed boost there matabolism and electrolyte balance.

2. Heat Stress -:
Heat stress can be also a reason of loose dropping, to overcome it use electrolyte
in poultry water and provide birds a suitable temperature.
3. Over-Crowding-:
Over crowding can be also a cause of feedy diarrhoea in chicken farming.
So prevent over crowding, and give them a suitable space in yours
poultry house.
4. Bad Quality of
litter -: If birds litter remains wet, then there can be chances of
feedy dropping. So if you notice little said change in litter then change the litter as soon as possible.
5. Bad water and
feed quality-: If birds are provided with a poor quality of water I.e
more alkaline or acidic then birds should have to face the problem
of undigestion. More over wet feed or feed with fungal can be also a cause
of feedy diarrhoea.
Treatment-: Proivde
chicken a healthy feed and water, and maintain their litter dry. More
ever you need to use a liver tonic regulary to overcome this
problem.
